ARTIST BIO

Trip Park was drawn to advertising long before he illustrated.

After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Trip first worked as an Art Director with Leo Burnett, Chicago, and with Saatchi & Saatchi, New York. His agency-life gave him a fantastic opportunity to hire and work with some of his favorite illustrators and animators first-hand.  Seeing them create their pieces and how they worked in their mediums became instrumental to his making the jump to their side.

His editorial cartoons have been in Greensboro's News and Record, National Review, and USA Today. His editorial illustration has been in the Chicago Tribune and The Wall Street Journal, and his illustration and method of working on a Mac using Painter has been showcased in Step-By-Step Electronic Design.  Work from his recent children's book won acclaim in Communication Arts' 2005 Illustration Annual as he has illustrated a number of children's books including Gopher Up Your Sleeve, written by Tony Johnston, Trout, Trout, Trout! (A Fish Chant), Ant, Ant, Ant! (The Insect Chant), both written by April Pulley Sayre, and the Rotten School chapter book series, written by R. L. Stine.  He has also developed characters and helped animate commercials for AT&T, PBS, Nickelodeon, Zoloft, McDonald's and the California State Fair.

Trip lives in Charlotte, North Carolina.  His books, illustration, and animation can all be seen at tripparkproductions.com.
